SENZARADICI

The SENZARADICI is the result of selected bunches of Barbera grapes from a very old vineyard to which our grandfather had always been devoted to, some vines now are more than 70 years old.

After a soft crushing, the grapes ferment at a controlled temperature, macerating on their skins for about 8 days. Once malolactic fermentation is completed, the wine then aged in small steel tanks for a couple of months.

The result is a young and fresh wine, vinified in a traditional way with the aim of enhancing the peculiarities of the fruit and the typical characteristics of the territory. Brilliant ruby red in colour, the nose is expressed with notes of ripe red fruit, blackberries and plums, and is delicately completed by floral notes of violet. The palate is warm, balanced and enveloping guided by an excellent acidic shoulder that persists on the final. A characteristic that we love, typical of the Barbera of our hills.

GRIGNOLINO D'ASTI

Grignolino is a red vine variety with a personality all of its own that we are proud to grow and vinify, our territory is one of the most renowned for the production of this native variety, considered the Prince of our hills.

The bunches harvested in the morning in the coolest hours are placed in small boxes and quickly transported to the cellar. A soft crushing follows and begins its fermentation in small steel tanks, then we carry out daily, delicate pumping over to extract the natural colour from the skins. Once the alcoholic and malolactic fermentation are completed, the wine is left to rest for a couple of months in steel tanks and several weeks in the bottle.

To the eye it offers a bright ruby red colour with orange nuances. The nose is dominated by notes of small red fruits, sage, chamomile flowers and dried fruit. In the mouth it shows direct, with a delicate tannic texture. The natural acidity of the grapes makes it a fresh, delicate and refined wine, the drink is easy and persuasive.

BARBERA D’ASTI SUPERIORE

After having aged for 18 months in big barrel, our version of Barbera d'Asti Superiore is a wine of great class and expressiveness.

This Barbera is produced by accurately selecting the best bunches, they are in fact the last grapes to be hand-picked. A very gentle crushing follows and the fermentation is carried out in steel tanks at controlled temperature. After a wild malolactic ferment, its long period of maturation in 'botte grande' begins.
Intense ruby red color, the nose is direct with hints of red berries, ripe cherries, liquorice and menthol notes. On the palate the acidity is distinct and brilliant, tannins are soft and elegant.
A powerful wine, but also of immediate pleasure, which best describes the strong connection between us and the landscape. To be enjoyed right now or to be left to rest for several years.

PIEMONTE SYRAH

Inspired by the winemaking experiences in France and Australia, we decided to produce an alternative red from 100% Syrah grapes. We dedicate one of our best parcels on the hills of Belveglio to grow Syrah, the variety par excellence produced in the Côte du Rhône (France).

The east facing exposure allows the grapes to ripen slowly and to reach a good sugar level and polyphenols content. Grapes are hand picked in the morning and transported in the cellar. It follows then the destemming and a soft crushing. Fermentation is carried out with frequent punch-downs of the cap for about fifteen days (temperature within 24-26°C). Once the alcoholic and malolactic fermentation are terminated, the wine is aged for 10 months in 225-liter French oak barriques. Brilliant ruby red color, on the nose notes of cherries, small red fruits, plums and spicy notes complete the primary and secondary aromas. In the mouth is fruity, fine and elegant. The medium structure allows this wine a good aging potential. The soil, highly calcareous, allows this grape to express an interesting and persistent tannic texture.
