BARBERA D’ASTI DOCG SUPERIORE

After having aged for 18 months in large oak barrels, our Barbera d'Asti DOCG Superiore is a red wine of great class and expressiveness.
This Barbera is made by scrupulously selecting the best bunches, in fact this vineyard is among the last to be harvested. The grapes are gently destemmed and the fermentation is under controlled temperature. After spontaneously undergoing malolactic fermentation, its long period of aging in wood begins from here.
Deep ruby red in color, the nose is direct with hints of small red fruits, ripe cherries, licorice and menthol notes. On the palate the acidity is distinct and bright, the tannins are soft and elegant.
A powerful wine expressing at its best the strong bond between us and the territory. To be drunk immediately or left to rest for several years.

Barbera d'Asti DOCG

Our Barbera d'Asti DOCG is a single vineyard batch, made exclusively from Barbera grapes. The result comes from a selection of an historic vineyard that our grandfather has always been fond of; some vines are more than 70 years old.

Fermented and aged only in stainless inox tanks at a controlled temperature (26-27°C), this wine has a brilliant ruby red color, the nose is expressed with hints of ripe red fruit, blackberries and plums, it is delicately complemented by floral notes of violets. The palate is fresh, balanced and enveloping driven by a distinct acidity that persists on the finish, a  feature that we love.

GRIGNOLINO D'ASTI DOC

The Grignolino is a native grape variety with a distinctive and unique personality that we are proud to grow and vinify, Rocchetta Tanaro’s hills are among the most vocated for the production of this interesting red wine.

The hand picking is done during the coolest hours in the morning and the grapes are rapidly transported to the cellar. Once the bunches are destemmed, the must starts its fermentation in small inox tanks. In order to extract the natural color from the skins, delicate pump overs are carried out daily for 10 days. Once the fermentation is over, the wine rests a couple of months in steel and several weeks in the bottle before releasing.

To the eye it offers a bright ruby red color with orange highlights. Notes of small red fruits, sage, chamomile flowers and dried fruits dominate the nose. In the mouth it is direct, with a delicate tannic texture. The natural acidity of the grape makes it a fresh, delicate and refined wine, the drinking becomes easy and convincing.

PIEMONTE DOC SYRAH

We decided to designate one of our small vineyard parcels in the hills of Belveglio to grow Syrah, the variety of excellence in the Côte du Rhône (France).

The eastern sun exposure allows the clusters to ripe slowly and to achieve an excellent sugar and polyphenolic contents. The grapes are handpicked in the morning and transported to the cellar. The fermentation is conducted with repeated punch downs for a fortnight (temperature 24-26°C). Once the alcoholic and the malolactic fermentations are completed, the wine mature for 8 months in 225-liter French oak barrels.

Brilliant ruby red in color, the nose shows notes of cherries, small red fruits, plums and spicy notes complementing the primary and secondary aromas. In the mouth it is fruity, fine and elegant. The medium structure allows this wine a good aging potential. The soil, highly calcareous, allows this varietal to express an interesting and persistent tannic texture.

NIZZA DOCG

Our first expression of Nizza DOCG has a unique finesse and elegance. The particular exposure of this historic vineyard, located on the hills of the Bricco di Belveglio in the northern sector of the appellation, allows the predominantly clay soil to remain cool, keeping the vegetative phase of the vines contained and promoting the perfect ripening of the fruit.

The grapes are handpicked during the early morning hours, and the whole berry fermentation starts in small inox tanks. Once the fermentation is over, we rack into a 550-liter tonneaux where it will mature for 18 months. It will follow further 6 months of bottle aging before the wine release.

In the glass it is deep ruby red, the nose expresses a rich and complex bouquet: from small red fruits, to ripe red fruit. The spicy notes of wood are well incorporated and very pleasant. The taste is soft, velvety and persistent.

PIEMONTE ROSATO DOC

The grapes are harvested by hand in the coolest hours of the morning in small crates. Gentle destemming follows and the whole berries are put directly into the press to cryo-macerate for a very short time. Temperature-controlled fermentation and aging in stainless steel only.

Brilliant soft pink in color, hints of grapefruit, blood orange, white peach and apricot stand out on the nose. On the sip it is fresh, fruity and pleasantly drinkable. The palate is light, fresh and invitingly savory - the Syrah grape variety comes through, giving this Barbera in pink a nice softness and balance.

MONFERRATO BIANCO DOC

White soil, sandy texture and a steep slope. We have chosen this small parcel to grow Arneis, one of Piedmont's most beloved white grape varieties.

The grapes are harvested by hand the first decade of September, when the berries begin to take on a beautiful golden color. We then perform a soft pressing, protecting the must with dry ice to prevent oxidation. This is followed by cold static decantation with subsequent racking into temperature-controlled steel tanks in which alcoholic fermentation will take place. We keep the fine lees in suspension for the next three months, performing bâtonnage by hand - this gives the palate more creaminess, length and personality.

Bright straw yellow in color, this Arneis has an intense aromatic texture - notes of citrus, pear and spring flowers, combined with delicate mineral nuances such as firestone. The sip is harmonious and full-bodied. The taste is fresh and elegantly savory.
